Watch Satellite TV on Pc or Cable Tv?

Now, more people are starting to watch satellite TV on PC. What exactly is its beauty? How does it fare against watching cable TV? These are burning questions which this article hopes to shed some light on.
The old debate between to watch satellite TV or watch cable TV has been on going for several years now. Those were the days when we still cannot watch satellite TV on PC. This close rivalry has nothing but good for us as consumers. Satellite TV and cable TV companies would try to outdo one another in terms of pricing, offering deeper discounts, giving more freebies, bundled deals with hand phones, cheaper installation and equipment, and so on. When you cannot decide whether to watch satellite TV or cable TV, you can always make a couple of calls to these service providers and find out more. In fact, there are folks who managed to get even better deals that are not advertised when they share their dilemma.
Survey of satellite TV users seem to show that folks like to watch satellite TV because of the greater selection of programs and generally, the quality of the programs broadcasted are better. However, the Achilles’ heel of watching satellite TV is always its relatively harder installation process involving setting up the satellite dish, receiver and so on so forth. Though this is easily overcome by service providers packaging its subscription with free installation service, the satellite dish may cost the user quite a fair bit of cash. Even when they are offered free, because of its vulnerability to the elements of the world such as rain and storm, reception can be poor occasionally. Cable TV on the other hand wins in the game of pricing and ease of installation in most instances.
Today, things are looking brighter for people who have long been watching satellite TV, with the entry of proprietary software that enables anyone to watch satellite TV on PC. The beauty of being able to watch satellite TV on PC is its simple set up and minimum requirements. The software works on most personal computers whether it is a desktop or laptop, and connects to thousands worldwide satellite TV stations via an internet connection. This means tons of international TV channels and hours of movies, entertainment, documentaries, and news.
If you have a wireless router at home, you can carry your laptop around your home and still be plugged in to watch satellite TV on PC. Apparently, users have feedback that the transmission is reliable and not easily disrupted. Find out how you can also tap into this new technology at my blog and watch satellite TV on PC today.

Help answer the question about cable tv companies
What companies offer cable TV without a dish?I live in an apartment complex and they don't allow satellite dishes. We just canceled comcast. I think we had like 150 channels or so plus ondemand. If possible I would prefer not to have comcast again… anybody know of a cable company w/o a dish that is fairly cheap? (under $35 or so).
By the way, we live in the Denver/Metro area (Colorado).

This is insane. The “big corporations” have had free reign for decades and it’s made the internet the place people flock to. And now that the state wants to jump in and control content, they’re using the classic “big companies are out to get you” fearmongering.
This is so obvious, the internet is a free market now! WTF do you assholes expect the state to do? Who is going to be better able to influence how the state commands the internet, some disorganized net-mob or the corporations?
… it’s a sarcastic commercial, I think you didn’t quite get the point.
The quality is not all that good, and changing channels takes awhile so surfing is out of the question, but TVUplayer is the most widely used application for this.

another way is to run a s-video cable from your television or recorder to your pc if your video card has that option. or you can go to various sites on the web that will allow you to pay for the downloads (even though you already have cable in the house)
er..this is sarcastic if u havnt noticed dumass
The big phone and cable companies have had free reign for years and the internet has thrived. Where is the need to add government regulation to the internet, which is what your proposing.
It's simply called a TV tuner card, and yes, you'll still need and antenna or cable or satellite connection to it.
So the internet doesn’t end up like tv and radio have… where the big phone and cable companies control what we see and hear..or have access to…
Theese folks are trying to scare people with cheap trick speach, breeding misstrust based on stereotype examples.

those people sound like a bunch of communist!
Madness, as long as I am paying for my connection they would never get to that point of making it “smaller” and more “restricted”.
But maybe they could make their own networks? Oh shit.. thats true. They have TV….
Are you talking about http://www.pc-tv-4-me.info ?
I am using this software
It works very well
The DVD player is usually an output-only device, so you probably cannot connect your laptop to the TV through the DVD. I don't know what kind of DVD player you have, so I cannot be sure.
This device should do the trick, though:

It's designed to connect to TVs that don't have S-video.
The laptop's S-video port is output, not input, so you can't use it to connect the DVD to the computer. You can add a video-capture to it to do that:
